Welcome Mac Users

Frontline Systems is working with the Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit to bring you Solver for Excel 2008.

  1. Solver for Excel 2008 will be free.
  2. Solver for Excel 2008 will be downloadable here.
  3. Solver for Excel 2008 will be available by mid-September.

When the bits are available for download, an announcement will be posted on this site, and on the Mac Mojo blog for Office 2008. Subscribe to Mac Mojo via RSS to get the word as early as possible!

Solver for Mac Excel 2008 looks and behaves very much like Solver for Excel 2004. 

If you open a workbook with a Solver model that you created in Excel 2004, or in most other versions of Excel, the model should appear automatically in this dialog -- you can just click Solve.

In the meantime...

  • Try our Solver Tutorial to learn more about building Solver models and getting solutions.
  • If you also use Excel for Windows, you may be interested in our Premium Solvers for Excel.  (In September, only the free standard Solver will be available for Mac Excel 2008.)
