XLMiner textbook license - Frontline Systems

If you are the original purchaser of the textbook Data Mining for Business Intelligence by Galit Shmueli, Nitin Patel
and Peter Bruce, you can request a free 6-month license to use our XLMiner data mining software for Microsoft Excel.
Look for your Access Code on the reverse side of the small card
attached to the inside back cover of the book (its letters are lower
case). If you have the Access
Code, you can download and run the Setup program to install the software, and
activate your 6-month license now, by filling out the form below.
If you don't have the Access Code, you can still download
and install the software by filling out the form below -- this will get you
started with a 30-day license, and you'll receive instructions via email to
contact us to extend this to a 6-month license. One common case is the
Kindle version of Data Mining for Business Intelligence -- in this
case just enter kindle in the Access Code field in the form
below.
Download Instructions
1. Determine if you are using a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version of Excel. Finding out is easy. If you are using Excel 2003 or 2007 you have a 32-bit version. If you are using Excel 2010 simply launch Excel, click on the File menu and then click Help. On that screen in the About Microsoft Excel section you will see either “(32-bit)” or “(64-bit)”. If it says 64-bit, check the box at the bottom of the form below. If not, leave it blank.
2. Ensure that Excel is closed. Since the software is an add-in to Excel, Excel needs to be closed for installation to properly complete.
3. Complete the form below. Choose the closest User
Type, and be sure to include your Access Code (see above, and the inside back cover of
your textbook). Note, it is okay if you have registered on this site previously with the same email address.
4. Click on the Download Now button. You may need to enable pop-ups and should be presented with a dialog asking “Do you want to run or save this file?” Select Save to save the file, paying attention to where it is saved, and the name.
5. Check your email for Installation Password, then Install. Run the file you saved (XLMinerSetup.exe or
XLMinerSetup64.exe). You will be prompted to enter an Installation Password and
a License Activation Code. Both of these are sent to the address you enter on the form
below.

the textbook Data Mining for Business Intelligence, and have your Access
Code available if possible. If you have problems using a dataset or setting up a data mining analysis, and you're
in a course, please ask your instructor for assistance.
