Description of Services:

If you are looking for further assistance, Frontline Systems has several ways we can help you  solve your problem by building models or improving your existing models.

Option 1: Business Problem Assessment

For a modest fixed charge of $495, speak to one of our Certified Consultants, who can take a look at the problem you want to solve and provide you with a written report by email, and a brief phone discussion to summarize:

  1. The consultant’s understanding of your problem and desired outcome.
  2. The consultant’s assessment of whether your problem likely can be solved with optimization, simulation or predictive analytics methods.
  3. Our and the consultant’s assessment of whether Frontline Solvers software can be used to efficiently solve the problem.
    • If it can, we’ll recommend specific Frontline products that we think are best for your problem.
    • If not, we’ll point you towards software products from other vendors that may be appropriate.
  4. If we believe the problem can be solved with our software, and if you indicate that you’d like a consulting proposal:
    • A project outline for services the consultant could provide, to actually build and solve the model.
    • A price quote for these consulting services, structured with check points along the way.

We’ve have several Certified Consultants that have extensive training and experience that they can apply to your problem. Click here to see a list of our Certified Consultants.

Our Business Problem Assessment usually has a high payoff for our prospective customers -- it sure beats “coming up the learning curve” entirely on your own! -- and it’s something we always do as a first step in our consulting services.  Your success in an optimization, simulation or predictive analytics project very often depends on how you start.  Excel skills are very useful, but especially for optimization and simulation, the experience of having built scores of other successful models can help enormously.  It’s far too easy to expend a great deal of effort in model-building, ending up with a large, complex model that can’t be solved efficiently, or solved at all.

Option 2: Quick Model Review

If you already have a model built, but you think there’s an opportunity to improve the model, or maybe a better way to design the model, the Quick Model Review is the way to go.

For a modest fixed charge, one of our Certified Consultants will review your current model on a confidential basis, and provide you with a written report by email, and a brief phone discussion to summarize:

  1. Areas of the model that can be done differently to achieve a better result.
  2. If the consultant believes the model can be improved and/or re-designed, and if you indicate that you’d like a consulting proposal:
    • A project outline for services the consultant could provide, to actually build and solve the model.
    • A price quote for these consulting services, structured with check points along the way.

Option 3: Solver Academy

If you’d like to gain additional knowledge in the areas of simulation, optimization and data mining, check out https://solver.academy/ where you can take our online, on-demand courses that will teach you how to effectively build a model using Frontline Solvers software.

In the Data Mining 101 course, you’ll learning how to:

  • Find patterns and hidden relationships in data that can be used to predict behavior and to make better decisions
  • Perform data mining techniques, including both descriptive and predictive analytics
  • Use the six data mining steps to extracting insightful trends and data

In the Simulation 101 course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Model risk and uncertainty, using probability distributions
  • Learn to cope with, and even take advantage of uncertainty in decisions

In the Optimization 101 course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build optimization models
  • Find solutions to those models using state-of-the-art Solver products
  • Confidently help organizations make better decisions and identify optimal solutions to complex problems
